Just a day.

When I decided to do this blog I promised that I'd post about the more mundane day to day crap too. Hopefully other people can relate to the daily trials and tribulations and feel a little more normal and less alone. (Especially stay at home parents...)

Today was a down day. I had to take my van in for an oil change so the boys babysat the girls while I was gone.

What should have taken 30 minutes ended up taking almost 4 hours because of a safety recall that also needed to be dealt with asap.

Luckily Alex is a really great kid and kept the house from burning down and the girls from totally destroying things. He and Cassidy even got some school work done in the process.

I got a couple new audiobooks to listen to in the car from the library (Mrs. Peregrine's School for Peculiar Children and Hollow City) after being thoroughly disappointed by first few chapters of the Dean Koontz children's novel called "Oddkins: A Fable for All Ages". It was a little too.... religious... for me.

Emie wrote another letter to far away family members.

The boys played games and did dishes and cleaned up a bit.

I did some laundry. Made oven baked bbq chicken and french fries with fry sauce for dinner. We ate more cake and ice cream for dessert.

My bathroom is still a mess. My living room has blankets and toys everywhere. I have company coming on Sunday so I get to spend my weekend cleaning.

Words just uttered by me "DOROTHY STOP LICKING THE FIREPLACE!"

This is real life.

I didn't take a single picture.
